Workflow Assessment
Decide what deserves to be built—and what does not.
- Scope
- One workflow
- Fee
- Fixed fee agreed in advance
- Duration
- Time-boxed in the written scope
- Decision
- Implement, defer or stop
- What this cannot conclude
- That an Implementation is automatically required or included.
The question
Is there a bounded change worth making?
The Assessment begins with the present operating system: people, evidence, tools, decisions and exceptions. Model selection follows only if the workflow case supports it.
How work moves today, where it waits and where judgement enters.
What current effort, delay, risk or error can be evidenced.
Which decisions must remain human and what happens when evidence is weak.
Whether a bounded Implementation has a testable case.
What you receive
A decision pack, not a slideware strategy.
- Workflow
- Boundary, owner, trigger, completion state and explicit exclusions.
- Baseline
- Observed effort, delay, risk and evidence quality.
- Decision map
- Possible assistance, human judgement and escalation.
- Acceptance
- Representative tests and failure behaviour agreed before implementation.
- Recommendation
- Implement, defer or stop—with reasons.
- What this cannot conclude
- A customer outcome, universal model performance, compliance certification or return at scale.
Refusal conditions
Not every workflow should become an AI project.
The Assessment should stop or defer when ownership, access, evidence, acceptance or a safe failure path cannot be established.
No accountable workflow owner or decision-maker.
No lawful or proportionate route to representative evidence.
No meaningful acceptance test or safe failure path.
The requested outcome depends on unsupported certainty or removes necessary human judgement.
What it costs to find out
A bounded decision before a larger commitment.
- Purpose
- Check structural fit and identify the decision owner.
- Output
- Proceed to a scoped Assessment discussion, or stop.
- What this cannot conclude
- A workflow recommendation, feasibility result or implementation scope.
- Purpose
- Create the evidence-backed decision record.
- Output
- Implement, defer or stop—with the supporting boundary.
- What this cannot conclude
- A guaranteed result, future service level or unbounded support commitment.
